The gamma-ray bursts fundamental plane correlation as a cosmological tool

چکیده

Cosmological models and their corresponding parameters are widely debated because of the current discrepancy between results Hubble constant, $H_{0}$, obtained by SNe Ia, Planck data from Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation. Thus, considering high redshift probes like Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) is a necessary step. However, using GRB correlations physical features to infer cosmological difficult luminosities span several orders magnitude. In our work, we use 3-dimensional relation peak prompt luminosity, rest-frame time at end X-ray plateau, its luminosity in X-rays: so-called 3D Dainotti fundamental plane relation. We correct this selection evolutionary effects with reliable statistical method, obtaining lower central value for intrinsic scatter, $\sigma_{int}=0.18 \pm 0.07$ (47.1 \%) compared previous results, when adopt particular set GRBs well-defined morphological features, called platinum sample. have used alone both Gaussian uniform priors on combination Ia BAO measurements matter density universe ($\Omega_{M}$), dark energy parameter $w$ $w$CDM model. Our consistent given $\Lambda$CDM model but advantage detected up $z=5$, much larger than one observed furthest Ia.

5 Gamma Ray Bursts as cosmological tools

The use of Gamma Ray Bursts as “standard candles” has been made possible by the recent discovery of a very tight correlation between their rest frame intrinsic properties. This correlation relates the GRB prompt emission peak spectral energy Epeak to the energy Eγ corrected for the collimation angle θjet of these sources. The possibility to use GRBs to constrain the cosmological parameters and ...

Cosmological Uses of Gamma - Ray Bursts

Studies of the cosmic gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) and their host galaxies are starting to provide interesting or even unique new insights in observational cosmology. GRBs represent a new way of identifying a population of star-forming galaxies at cosmological redshifts. GRB hosts are broadly similar to the normal field galaxy populations at comparable redshifts and magnitudes, and indicate at most ...

Cosmological Time Dilation in Gamma Ray Bursts?

Norris et al. (1994) report that the temporal structure of faint gamma ray bursts is longer than that of bright bursts, as expected for time dilation in the cosmological models of burst origin. I show that the observed trends can easily be produced by a burst luminosity function and thus may not result from cosmological effects. A cosmological signature may be present, but the tests Norris et a...

Cosmological Studies with Gamma-Ray Bursts

Gamma-Ray Burst (GRB) explosions from the first generation of stars offer an exciting opportunity to probe the epoch of reionization. Clues about how and when the intergalactic medium was ionized can be read off their UV emission spectrum. Roughly a percent of all GRBs should be strongly gravitationally lensed by intervening stars. A microlensed lightcurve can be inverted to reconstruct the sur...
